Soul & Strings: Music, Stories, Connection

7:30 PM | JUL 25

Some evenings entertain us. Others stay with you.

This is the latter.

Join Zimbabwean musician Isaac Jengwa and Brazilian storyteller Valdirene Amaral for an intimate gathering where music and storytelling weave together to create a space for slowing down, listening deeply and reconnecting — with ourselves, with one another, and with the stories that make us human.

Through soulful acoustic music, personal storytelling and shared reflection, we'll journey across continents, cultures and generations — exploring love, belonging, longing, hope, ancestry and the quiet threads that connect us all.

Set in the warmth of a Lewes home, this isn't simply a concert or a storytelling evening. It's a gathering. A chance to pause. To breathe. To listen. To remember.

Just 15 of us, this evening is intentionally small — creating space for genuine connection, meaningful conversation, and the kind of moments that rarely happen in a crowded room.

Bring a bottle if you'd like — we'll have light nibbles and a warm welcome. Come as you are. Leave with a story that stays with you.

Spaces like this don't come around often. And when they do, they go fast.

Soul & Strings: Rhythm

The Yew Tree Inn, Chalvington, BN27 3TB

7:30 PM | AUG 21

You haven't heard this before.

This one's different. We're in the marquee — a garden gig under canvas, where African rhythms meet indie folk in a way that makes you feel something new. This isn't background music. It's about joy, about vibing, about exploring music concepts you haven't come across before.

£15 solo. £25 for two — bring your dance partner, save a fiver, and have extra room to vibe.

Come early. Stay late. Let the rhythm find you.
